Successes and achievements over the past 12 months .
The past year has been one of the most significant in the history of Zimbali Estate . A time of rediscovery , reconnection and renewal , 2022 heralded the beginning of an incredible new brand story , with the launch of a contemporary logo design inspired by the sunbirds , milkwood leaves and strelitzias of Zimbali Estate , set against a ‘ tidewater green ’ background blended from hues drawn from the natural landscape of ocean and beach , golf course and coastal dune forest .
June 2022 also saw a new board being elected under the newly adopted MOI . Under the chairmanship of Martin Mohale , the board has committed to taking Zimbali Estate ’ s new vision into the future .
Francois Schoeman was appointed as the new CEO for Zimbali Estate at the beginning of 2023 , bringing a wealth of property industry experience , business strategy skills , management and leadership acumen to the role . Under the guidance of the board and CEO , a new governance framework has been implemented , to the greater benefit of the Zimbali Estate residential community .
In addition , 2022 saw the approval and implementation of Zimbali Estate ’ s first ever Environmental Management Plan , which aims to formalise the sustainable management of the estate ’ s natural assets . It was also another exciting year of collaboration and partnerships with various research organisations , conservation experts , authorities and wildlife rehabilitation centres .
The upgrading and opening of the Zimbali Estate nursery to residents in November 2022 was a phenomenal achievement of which we are really proud . The nursery has sold thousands of indigenous plants to its residents , ensuring the correct plants are chosen for the environment and the animals who rely on it for sustenance . The nursery has also propagated over 16,000 plants since May 2022 , for rehabilitation and restoration work undertaken on the estate .
