RESEARCH ACTIVITIES
Clinical Research
Monash Malaysia is fortunate to have excellent clinical and lab-based skills and capabilities in Johor Bahru in the south of the country. The
Clinical Research Cluster is a new cluster set up in 2017 that seeks to enhance the research capability of the entire campus by harnessing
the research potential in JB.
Overview of Activities
Clinical School Johor Bahru (CSJB) received Tropical Medicine & Biology (TMB) support for its annual Research Week held from 4 to 8
September 2017. This fifth edition of the Research Week saw the participation of a total of 28 research projects from teams that combined
academic staff and students. The submissions were divided into two categories; the Completed Project which had 13 entries and the
Research Idea for the remaining 15 entries. It was encouraging to see the wide range of research domains covered; which included Research
Ethics, Psychology, Women’s and Children’s Health, Cardiometabolic Health, Orang Asli Community Health, Surgery, Radiology and
Molecule Discovery. Besides presentation of research projects, there were also formal Research Skills educational activities like workshops
on Systematic Review, Research Methodology and SPSS.
Following the daily afternoon poster presentations from 4 to 7 September, the Research Week culminated with the Oral Presentations
on 8 September 2017. The judges for the oral presentation were fellow academic staff from from the Sunway campus, ensuring a richer
experience for all the participants. The results are as follows:
