WHAT DO WE UNDERSTAND FOR MASSACRES?

At the Legal:

The Department of Protection of Citizen’s Rights in the Manual of qualification of violative conduct, in respect of the massacres concerned: "this meaning is used to refer to the death of several people in a same thing”. The Royal Spanish Academy defines it as: "killing of defenseless, in general, produced by armed attack or similar cause", the use of the María Moliner Spanish Dictionary says: "savage slaughter of people" the international criminal law, international human rights, international humanitarian law, or domestic criminal law define it. It appears as a category more closeness other disciplines than the right.

In Colombia there is not a unanimous conceptualization in the regard. Towards the end of the Decade of the eighties, database of human rights of the CINEP defined it as: "the murders of five or more victims". This number was the parameter initially used by the Office of the Department of Protection of Citizen’s Rights: "the simultaneous death of five or more people in a same made murderer". Later, in another publication, this entity keeps almost exactly how that definition "the simultaneous death of five or more people" in a same deed of violence but then appears a faith of errata that says "is considered massacre death simultaneous three or more people in a same deed of violence".

Furthermore, it is noted that "the national army of Colombia adopts the definition that says a massacre is configured when you are assassinated intentionally people in a State of helplessness and three or more victims are the result of the facts, at the same "humid circumstances, time and place, produced by armed attacks or similar cause".

So, to CREDHOS the massacres are defined as actions in which committed the intentional killing of three or more persons in a State of helplessness, in the same circumstances of time, place and mode usually are associated with criminal behaviour of high gravity such as: torture, forced displacement, sexual violence and enforced among other disappearance.

The development of this document involved a brief thought on the criminal categories for the systematization of information, in this sense, we understand each of the victimizing facts under a wide parameters of classification. We then express our analysis:
