MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR, ADVANCEMENT COMMITTEE
My wife Darcy and I have been proud members of the Crofton House community since our daughter joined Junior Kindergarten in 2020. From memorable events like the annual CHS Golf Classic and Winter Bazaar to everyday moments on campus, it has been a joy to be involved in such a vibrant and welcoming school.
Our daughter is the fifth member of Darcy’ s family to attend Crofton House, following in the footsteps of her mother, grandmother, great-aunt, and great-greataunt. This deep family connection speaks to the enduring strength of the CHS community— one we are honoured to be part of.
This past year, I had the privilege of chairing the Advancement Committee for the first time. Composed of dedicated parent volunteers and alumnae, the Committee plays a vital role in supporting advancement at CHS. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to each member for their time, insight, and unwavering commitment.
The Advancement Committee advises the Board of Governors on strategic and policy matters related to advancement— this includes fundraising, donor relations and stewardship, and alumnae engagement. In partnership with the Head of School, the Deputy Head, and the Director of Advancement, we also support the School’ s operations in these areas.
This year, we were proud to help advance the first year of CHS’ s multi-year Advancement Plan. Our shared goal is to ensure CHS continues to offer exceptional girl-centred education while expanding access for students who would thrive here, regardless of financial circumstances. This is a school that invites and needs us to be involved. This year was no exception, with the community stepping forward to support the educational experiences of current and future students.
As parents, we have the unique opportunity to shape the future of Crofton House and ensure it remains a place where our daughters can thrive. I encourage you to join us in supporting the School through your time, talents, and financial contributions. Together, we can continue to build a strong and vibrant community for our daughters and for future generations.
On behalf of the Advancement Committee, thank you to every member of the CHS community. Your generosity, participation, and belief in the School’ s mission make everything we do possible.
Warm regards,
Robert Coard, Chair, Advancement Committee
