3.2.2 Responsibilities
Members of this category shall have the same responsibilities as Active category members .
3.3 The Courtesy Category 3.3.1 Qualifications
The Courtesy Category is for those practitioners who do not practice in the hospital and wish to build or maintain a strategic relationship between the Hospital and other practitioners . It does not convey appointment to the Medical Staff .
3.3.2 Prerogatives Member of this category may : a .

c . d . attend Medical Staff , department , and section meetings to which he / she is a member and any other Medical Staff or hospital education programs ;
serve on Medical Staff committees , other than the MEC , and may vote on matters that come before such committees ;
visit patients in the hospital ; and
review medical records for patients referred for admission and write a non-codable Courtesy note .
Assignment to this category is entirely discretionary and may be rescinded at any time by the Medical Executive Committee . Members of this category do not have rights to a fair hearing . Removal from the Courtesy Category is not reportable as the assignment does not involve formal appointment to the Medical Staff or clinical privileges .
3.3.3 Limitations Members MAY NOT : a . admit or discharge patients in the hospital ; b . write Orders ;
