Progressive Care Units at Renown Regional
• Telemetry , Tahoe 7 and Tahoe 8 : An adaptable 38-bed unit in the Tahoe Tower providing comprehensive care for patients whose primary diagnosis is cardiac in nature . Nurses are trained in caring for patients who have undergone cardiac procedures including TAVRs , open heart surgery , pacemakers and ablations .
• Neuroscience : Our 30-bed unit in the Sierra Tower specializes in brain and spine care . These nurses care for a variety of medical and telemetry patients and are specially trained in neurological conditions including stroke , traumatic brain injury , spinal cord injury , seizure and neurosurgical procedures .
• Sierra Med / Tele : Our 33-bed unit located in the Sierra Tower provides comprehensive care to a wide variety of medical and telemetry patients . Our team collaborates closely with the University of Nevada , Reno Internal Medicine Program residents to foster an environment of learning , growth , and a positive partnership between nursing and our future providers .

Critical Care
The three adult ICUs at Renown are the only Beacon-designated ICUs in the state of Nevada . This designation recognizes outstanding patient outcomes and positive work environments . Renown is home to the only Level II Trauma Center between Salt Lake City and Sacramento , making it one of the top 5 busiest trauma ICUs in the nation . Additionally , Renown is the only Comprehensive Stroke Center in the area . Recently , Renown launched the region ' s only ECMO program , which cares for the most critically ill patients .
• Trauma ICU : A 34-bed unit located in the Tahoe Tower that aims to provide the highest quality of care to critically ill adolescents , adults and their families . The focus of the Trauma ICU is to address the human response to life-threatening events . Critical care nursing is defined by the dynamic interaction among the critically ill patient , the critical care nurse , and the critical care environment , with the goal of achieving optimal patient outcomes through the expertise of the most qualified clinicians .
• Roseview ICU : The neuro ICU is an 18-bed facility located in the Roseview Tower and plays an integral role in Renown ' s Comprehensive Stroke Center . This center was awarded Comprehensive Stroke Certification by The Joint Commission , which is a distinction held by less than 5 % of hospitals . Our nursing staff is certified in Emergency Neurological Life Support , enabling them to provide high-quality care and improve patient outcomes during critical neurological emergencies such as stroke , seizure , intracranial hemorrhage , and
