At our initial design consultation the homeowner had let me know he wanted to do something completely different and go for a modern design . I knew this space needed to be masculine and moody but didn ’ t want it to feel dark and heavy . Incorporating lighter items was paramount to soften the space . My favorite detail of this living room is the fireplace feature wall ! We added an electric fireplace with a custom floating shelf and antique brass knobs .
