DON'T DITCH YOUR WEIGHT LOSS GOALS When that stubborn body fat takes a stand, so many women give up on their weight loss goals. Here are some tips to get you through the weight loss plateau and on your way to achieving the body you've always wanted. by Alyssa Collins BETTER TOGETHER 1 Enlisting the help of a friend as an accountability and workout partner can be a great strategy for sticking to your weight loss goals! As an added bonus, weight loss becomes a lot less like a chore. You're both going to be looking fabulous soon! 2 3 FLEX THOSE MUSCLES Got stubborn fat? Don't give up. Lift weights! Adding muscle mass will actually help you burn more body fat throughout the day- even when you're not working out. Sounds pretty great, huh?! And no, you will not start to look like a man. Promise. SNEAKY CALORIES Be on the lookout for hidden calories. Many drinks are packed with sugar which can stall your weight loss. Instead opt for refreshing drinks flavored with essential oils. Sparkling water infused with berries is also a great option. 4 5 DRINK UP Speaking of drinks, are you getting enough water every day? Most women fall short on their daily water intake. The goal is to drink half your body weight in ounces each day. So, if you weigh 150 pounds, aim for 75 ounces of water per day. STRESS BE GONE Repeat after me: Cortisol is your weight loss enemy. When you're stressed, your body produces excess Cortisol. This hormone actually promotes body fat and sabotages your weight loss efforts. Make sure you are getting plenty of restful sleep and focus on incorporating plenty of self-care practices into your day.
