track but now we flat track to keep our relay horses in
shape, there’s just more money in relay now. Teams
and riders are getting more consistent with more orga-
nized relay races happening and the money is better.
Fact is, a successful relay string or strings are built,
not bought. It will often take years to come up with a
winning combination,” says Fast Horse.
He gives credit to the teams that he has been part of
through the years for giving him the confidence to
start his own team, Fast Horse Relay, that is going into
the sixth year this season. Fast Horse says, “I learned
from the best. No kidding all the teams I have been a
part of at one time or another have reached the top of
our sport. It is because of them and all I have learned
and experienced that I get to realize a dream I’ve had
since I was a little boy. The list of people is long that
have influenced me and I’d be afraid to leave anyone
out but the teams I’ve been on are DDXpress, Lakota
Warpath, and JT Relay. I’d just like everyone to know I
appreciate all the help along the way.”
Family is always a big part of the team. This year
Fast Horse is dedicating his season to his mom that
left them in January. She always wanted him to race
horses and loved relay. His daughter Bailey is the team
