Flagship Project for Armenia
The Regional Open Innovation Campus (ROIC) will be a 20,000+ square meter
campus, which will function as a full STI ecosystem from higher education to the
immersive customer experience. The ROIC will serve as a microcosm to power the entire
Armenian scientific and technological sectors and industries by being home to
university STEM departments, experimentation areas (R&D labs), incubation &
acceleration spaces, and a customer experience area.
ROIC is envisaged to support the full lifecycle of innovation: from knowledge creation to
scientific discoveries, to company creation. The value creation chain starts from the STI
ecosystem, which brings all the actors of the process into ROIC. Students are the first
actors of the process. The process starts with students entering universities. Some of the
university graduates will continue their careers as researchers and will stay in value
creation process as researchers. Their knowledge created at Academia will further be
applied in the Experimentation Area , where they will work on the creation of innovative
solutions. This is where technology will be developed. At the next stage of the value
chain, technology will turn into product with the help of entrepreneurs, coaches, and
mentors, coming from the STI ecosystem.
