Saints sophomore Rodney Williams dives
after a loose ball in a game against arch rival
Golden Eagles from Cornerstone University.
This was a key late season matchup which
resulted in an exciting 97-95 win for the Saints
in double overtime, adding yet another chapter
to the infamous Cornerstone and Siena Heights
rivalry. The victory helped Siena reach a 29-7
overall season record and a 10-2 WHAC record.
They tied for the WHAC title with Indiana Tech
and advanced to their fifth consecutive WHAC
tournament finals where they lost 87-83 to
Cornerstone. The Saints capped off an incredible
season by advancing for the ninth straight time
to the NAIA Division II Men’s Basketball National
Championship as the 15th seed. They faced a
tough second-seeded Bellevue University
in round two, and lost 78-75 in overtime.
