Our last day at the beach By Christina Plunkett Today was our last day at the beach. For me summer starts when the children start their summer holidays. We get our beach bags ready and head to the beach. We hope we have good weather and that it is not raining. My family, my older sisters Mary and Janet and the cousins - we always have so much fun at the beach. One day Janet lost her mobile. When she was going for her swim her phone was in the top of her swimsuit. When she got out and was getting dressed she could not find Photo by C Plunkett her phone. There was a big search for her phone and my niece found it in the water, and of course it didn’t work. We all had a good laugh about it. All the kids went to search for treasure along the beach. Some days they would find the funniest things but today they found real treasure - a rope. It was time for our last picnic: we always have our lunch at 12 o'clock. We all had a very nice lunch; one of Mary's 'beach sandwiches.' You can’t beat them! We had some nice treats because it was the last day at the beach. When the picnic was finished usually we would clean up and just relax for a while. But on the last day it was different. It was all fun and games today because the boys and girls had the rope.
