Everybody knows that learning English is not very easy, even more so if it is not your native language. Around the world, many people are searching for some place to learn English, because this language is one of the most important, being considered lingua franca in many places.

Among the people searching there are many teenagers, who are investing time on learning this language, because it is so benefic to their lives. In the majority of Brazilian businesses, the best positions are offered to people that are fluent in English, so we can see that English is fundamental.

However, not everything is ‘sweets and roses’. We did an interview with Intermediary English students at Microcamp Londrina, asking for the most difficult things in their learning process. Some English students said that their biggest difficult is in listening, when they listen to some conversation in English they have difficulty in understanding. We asked them what they do to overcome that difficulty and the majority said they “listen to songs in English and watch series". That is awesome. Today in the “Online World” we have a lot of movies, series and songs that we can use to aprimorate our English grammar, listening and conversation skills.

Another difficulty that the students reported was about the grammar, i.e. memorizing the grammar, distinguishing the differences between similar words, conjugating verbs and putting the words on a phrase in an order that makes sense. Reading text and books and focusing on studying harder have helped the students to overcome that difficulty. Watching movies with subtitles, listening to and singing songs, playing games in English are helping them in their learning process.

Finally, another difficulty that some students have is thinking that they couldn’t learn English, thinking that they are not capable of learning the language. They said that to overcome that difficulty they motivate themselves, saying that if they make an effort, they can learn English. And yes, everyone can learn any language, including the English language. You just have to really want it, to focus, make an effort and believe in yourself.
