3 . Build respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and histories by celebrating NAIDOC Week and other days of significance .
4 . Build respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and traditional knowledge by celebrating Traditional Owner language . appropriate to invite a local Traditional Owner or Custodian to provide a Welcome to Country or cultural protocol at significant events . Project staff to liaise with the relevant Traditional Owner organisation and TOMG representative if NQ Dry Tropics is organising an external Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people / group to their Country .

• Promote and encourage Board members and staff to participate in a NAIDOC event .
• Review HR policies to provide opportunities for staff to participate in NAIDOC and NRW Week .
• Find sponsorship opportunity / ies to celebrate NAIDOC week in consultation with the TOMG .
• Announce and provide a media release of NQ Dry Tropics opportunities / achievements in partnership with Traditional Owners during NAIDOC week .
• Celebrate and acknowledge Country names in communication materials and meetings . Investigate ways to build respect for and celebrate Traditional
Owner knowledge , languages , and cultures in the Burdekin Dry Tropics region . For example , rename office / room names to language names , include Country names and language in NRM plans and documents , and source funding to review and update the Healthy Land Yarns booklet .
