THEME“ dimenSional fiGureS around uS”
Class 2 nd( age 15-16) Teacher Sonata Vaitiekūnė Aim:
- learn better surface area and size formulas of dimensional figures, solving tasks of real content
Objective:
- having revised surface area and size formulas of dimensional figures to solve two tasks of three given ones.
Methods:- practical work, experimental learning, cooperative learning( group work)
Tools and means: computer, projector, formulas, football ball, basketball ball, regular quadrangular pyramid, regular triangular pyramid, calculator, ruler, pencil, rubber, pen.
Stages of the class:
1. Presentation of the theme and objectives 2 min. 2. Performing test 5 min. 3. Presentation surface area and size of the square rectangle 5 min. 4. Handing out tasks and discussion on them 5 min. 5. Working in groups 15 min. 6. Presentation of the work, analyzing and self-assessing( assessing under received points) 10 min. 7. Giving homework 3 min.
1. Presentation of the theme and objectives at the beginning of the class. 2. A student is invited to come to the computer and do the test of 10 questions:” Which surface of the spatial body do the given figures make?”
Projector, students read questions, choose an answer and the result is shown at the end of the test( annex 1)
3. Student( can be a volunteer) solves the task on the board, which is for revising to calculate the size of rectangular contiguous and answer how many students can study in this classroom.
Tasks: 1. How much cubic meters of air is in this classroom( classroom measurements: length, area, height are presented)? 2. How many students can work in this classroom if 1 student needs 1.7 m 2 area of the floor?
