KIMBERLY KAYE Kimberly's first job in radio was as a sales associate for radio staton WJAK. She did that for a few months before finally getting the opportunity of a lifetime when the owner of WFXX James E. Super Wolfe, husband of blues legend Denise LaSalle, asked her to be music director and on air talent. The rest is history. Kimberly has remained at the station for 28 amazing years. Often asked why didn't you work in another market, Kimberly says it's simple she loved thr city and she loves the station. Born Kimberly Kaye Tomlinson in the steel mill city of Gary, Indiana, no one knew that this quiet, shy young girl would grow up to be a radio personality. The family moved to Jackson, Tn where her mom was born. While heading to Miami to major in Communications, Kimberly's the main focus was to be heard in the city of Miami. Of course, no one was going to hire someone fresh out of college. So, the job search was on.Kimberly was disappointed when she heard the word no at every turn. Yet, she soon realized the reason she didn't get hired was because the Lord had a plan. Kimberly didn't know at the time she was pregnant with her beautiful daughter Franchesca and coming back home was a blessing in disguise. Kimberly has since been nominated for Billboard personality of the year. In addition, she has done many speaking engagements at various churches, hosted many talent shows, hair shows, concerts, block parties, and fund raisers. She works closely with the Carl Perkins Prevention Of Child Abuse, American Cancer Society, and Voters Registration.Kimberly has interviewed many celebs from Russell Simmons to Ne Ne Leakes and she has conducted some serious interviews with the late Rodney King. To Kimberly the best part of coming to work everyday are her coworkers because they are truly her family. In 2004, Kimberly created her feature "Author Of The Week" segment. because she wanted to share her love of reading with her audience and help people who normally don't pick up a book get a chance to love and find that reading is really cool. Kimberly can Still be heard on the airwaves Mon- Fri from 9am-2pm. .
