Recently I visited with a busy mom of 4, ages 3 to 12 years old. She home schools and has one special needs child who requires nursing attention throughout the day. Oh, and she is a night shift nurse working 3 nights a week at a local hospital! She is super busy!

I was there to give her a one-hour pampering session. During the session (which also included her 12-year old daughter) she told me how she had purchased many facial products but they always ended up “under the sink” as she just didn’t ever get around to using them.

So many busy women have a“cosmetic graveyard”of things theybought with the promise of smoother, softer skin, younger looking skin, but then never found the time to actually use the product. Good intentions. But let’s face it….when your life is busy and even chaotic, a simple skin care routine is challenging! You’re lucky to get your teeth brushed, never mind cleansing, exfoliating, toning, moisturizing, and protecting!!

So let’s talk about some SIMPLE STEPS to healthy skin and a few tips to make you look and feel sensational!

First, you must DECIDE that YOU are worth a few minutes in the day to take care of yourself. And I mean a few!! Are you worth a few minutes every morning and evening? I think so! You’ll look better and better yet, you’ll feel better about yourself!

Skin Care Tips

Cleansing - When my kids were small I washed my face and applied moisturizer when the kids were playing in the bathtub. Definitely before bedtime…it was too late then! I was usually asleep with them by 8:30 or 9pm! It’s simply a matter of finding a time that works for you and making it a HABIT! You wouldn’t go to bed without brushing your teeth, would you? Well going to bed without washing your face is equally detrimental to your skin’s health. Did you know that for every night you don’t wash your face, your skin ages an additional 14 days? Yikes!!

Find a product that multi-tasks (combines several steps), possibly a cleanser that cleanses, exfoliates, and tones all in one step. Follow with an age fighting moisturizer, a dab of eye cream and you’re done!! Seriously, you DO have time. It’s a matter of making the decision and creating the habit.

Makeup- Keep it Simple Sweetie!! Stop worrying about perfection…it doesn’t have to be all or nothing. Get a simple put together look in less than 6 minutes with 6 easy steps!

1.Apply a multitasking product something that corrects your complexion, provides broad spectrum sun protection, and also moisturizers

2.Apply a Mineral Powder Foundation. A weightless, skin perfecting powder foundation that provides buildable coverage.

3.Dust a little bronzing powderon your cheekbones.

4.Highlight your eyes with a little Cream Eye Color. One neutral color can really make your eyes pop!

5.Apply a coat of Mascara, one that lengthens and thickens to upper lash line.

6.Swipe your lips with a coat of cream lipstick of lip gloss. Voila – you’re good to go!
