e are entering into the last month of the
3rd fiscal corner in the business world. Many minority businesses are swaying back and forth because of the uncertainty that has surrounded our country since the new president has been sworn in. This uncertainty filters through minority owned businesses even more then mainstream businesses because of the lack of loyal backing by our communities. There must be a shift in the minority business realm but if that shift is going to take place then it is going to be up to us to make it happen. We can begin to make it happen by doing 3 things. Those 3 things are 1.) Mindset Shift 2.) Priority Shift 3.) Community Shift.

MINDSET SHIFT- Our mindset shift begins with the way that we see ourselves and others like us. One of the major issues that keep us from putting our money and businesses where we own it is the way that we think as a collective community. There has been so much distrust and dishonor within ourselves that we automatically go to believing that someone will do us wrong. This way of thinking did not just occur over night. It has developed over many years and will take some time to shift it, but there must be a beginning for everything. We begin to shift our mindsets by looking in the mirror and begin believing in the person that we are and holding ourselves accountable for changing us first.
