Improve Your Health Today
1. Eat more vegetables and fruit! Fruit and veggies provide our bodies with the essential nutrients we need to stay healthy, prevent disease, increase energy, improve circulation, and reduce congestion, just to name a few. Dark green leafy vegetables are true winners providing copious amounts of Vitamins A, C, E and K as well as folic acid, iron and tons of calcium. Try spinach, kale, collards or Swiss Chard, green leaf lettuce among others.
2. Concentrate on eating complex carbohydrates. Brown rice, quinoa, millet, wild rice and buckwheat are full of nutrients our body needs and are complex carbohydrates that give us lasting energy. Other complex carbohydrates include veggies, beans and legumes.

3. Create simple and quick meals. Think being healthy means you have to be in the kitchen all day long, chained to the stove? Think again! Healthy eating is simple and only requires a few ingredients, a vegetable, a whole grain and a source of protein like beans or a little chicken. Stir frying, sautéing and broiling are quick and best ways to make a meal in less than 30 minutes.
4. Decrease your intake of processed foods. Fast foods, food made with hydrogenated oils and products full of sugar give us empty calories. Although they may provide quick energy, they generally lack important nutrients our bodies need. Choose gentler natural sweeteners like agave nectar instead. Fast foods may be time effective to you but, your body will pay the price.
