How to become an estate agent

eal estate agents provide a valuable service
without which buyers and real estate investors
will not be able to find and acquire properties,
as well as dealing with all the paperwork and legalities
involved in the process. There also will be no mediator
between buyers and sellers. Estate agents are a vital
link in the property process, connecting all role players
together.
The perks of the profession which make everything
worthwhile includes matching the right property to the
right buyer and the right landlord to the right tenant,
high commission structure for properties successfully
sold or rented out, as well as meeting and interacting
with many different kinds of people.
However, there are some disadvantages such as
working long hours, working over the weekend showing
houses, dealing with difficult people, disappointment
and frustration when a sale does not go through or

you do not find the right tenant, as well as financial
implications when the market is slow and no properties
are sold or rented out.

A successful estate agent must have good
communication, people and organisational skills,
be honest, have integrity, be a persuasive seller, be
assertive, enthusiastic, a hard worker, persistent,
motivated, be business and technologically savvy, be
a good networker and a studious learner who can put
theoretical knowledge into practice.
