I then managed to secure senior funding from National Housing Finance Corporation (“ NHFC ”) in October 2017 and I could have never succeeded if it was not for GPF ’ s continued support and motivation on my behalf that they believed in my vision and project presented .
The continued support we received from GPF again was what made this project eventually succeed because instead of construction taking the envisaged 12months , we eventually only managed to finalise construction and get occupancy in September 2019 being 24 months .
The following images are because of having a supportive partner in the development because due to the time it had taken me to secure senior debt funding , all project costs had increased , and we needed to inject further equity into the development before we can access funding from GPF .
Construction finally began in August 2017 and was estimated to be completed by July of 2018 , however developing in the township had its own challenges which attracted violence and community engagement for the procurement process of local labour .
