1 . What inspired you enter to the property industry ? I bought my first house in 1986 , did some renovations , then sold it and made a 100 % profit . At that point in my life I thought I had found the best way to create money . The bug had bitten me , and I started doing this repeatedly . It was only later in my life , after reading an article about the Duke of Westminster that I realised I had been doing it wrong this whole time , and I was selling opportunity .
That is when I discovered the ‘ holy grail ’ of property investment – using specialised Trusts for property investment , and the art of refinancing . That is when I started to see the real value that property can bring , and my life had changed forever .
2 . Where did your journey to success start ? What were the key milestones or challenges you faced along the way ? I was always naturally an entrepreneur with several businesses over the years . I even owned Beauty Cube , a group of 13 Beauty Parlours , in my thirties .
In 1990 that I started Profcover , an insurance brokerage , and grew it in four years to one of the top 5 independent brokerages in South Africa . At this point I thought I wanted to retire and travel the world , but I soon realised that retirement was actually quite boring for me . That was when I discovered the secrets of the Duke of Westminster in an article that featured in the ‘ Huisgenoot ’, SA ’ s biggest Afrikaans weekly magazine . So I started researching it a little more , and what I learned changed my life , and the lives of many others , forever .
It was in 1996 that I registered the first version of the Wealth Mastery System in South Africa , and now thanks to that system , we have the biggest property investor club in South Africa . I have been invited to speak all over the world with the likes of Robert Kiyosaki the investor entrepreneur and author of the best-selling personal financial book in the world ‘ Rich Dad Poor Dad ’.
All of my friends started to notice that my life had changed and that I was buying properties all the time , and they all wanted to know how and why .
