enjoyable . Then I enjoy kickstarting activity in a business and seeing the metrics move . It ’ s a challenge , sometime of trial and error , but requires sound business logic and persistence , which will pay off .
7 . What is the best investment you ever made whether in an asset , yourself or anything else ? What were the key results ? The two best investments for me personally are education and real estate investments . I believe in continuous education , such as pursuing a university degree . I proceeded with my post graduate Master of Business Administration , which I did part time while working . This was a real test of hard work and dedication , and where I had to get up at 4am each morning to balance all the demands of studies , work , family and friends .
It ’ s important for me that I continue with my education through reading of books , podcasts , and following interesting channels on YouTube . It allows me to get different perspectives which I can then incorporate into my thinking real-estate investments .
8 . If you would do anything else , what would it be ? I would be a property developer . I just love working on new concepts for real-estate projects , as well as the marketing angle , and then taking them to the market .
9 . Is there someone whose life or work you value and admire , find inspiration from and whom you think might be a good guide ? I find inspiration from various sources , this includes interesting business leaders who enjoy sharing their knowledge . At the moment I really enjoy British entrepreneur Steven Bartlett ' s story and his approach to building great businesses .
10 . If you were the President of South Africa what would you change or do tomorrow ? I would implement an interesting tax incentive scheme to encourage the South African diaspora with suitable skills to return to SA and help rebuild the critical SOE ’ s that have been so badly impacted by mismanagement .
