all while facing a
variety of mysteries
within an industry that
continues to remain in
the middle of an
“overhaul” regarding
how books are getting
published.
With so many
unknowns (both seen
and unseen) meeting
us head on, we did
what any mystery lover would do, we “kept
reading” and, low and behold, mysteries began
getting solved right and left.
We are now networking in arenas we never
thought possible, and meeting people in the
industry who are taking us under their wings,
helping us make wise choices not only for the
company but even more so exciting, wise choices
also for the authors who made submissions that we
in turn invited to sign an agreement.
Here are a few more of the “solved” mysteries –
some we didn’t even know existed. Since our
opening day we have become a regular facilitating
team for the Pickford Community Library’s Young
Writers Workshop, and have become members of
Florida Authors and Publishers Association
(FAPA) and The Upper Peninsula Publishers and
Authors Association (UPPAA). We have been
accepted by YALSA to participate in their galley
list program, spoken at conferences nationwide,
and exhibited at multiple book festivals. We have
recently gotten involved in a Book Marketing
Program that lends itself to a wider audience for
our authors.
