Senior Pastor’s Report – 2013 I think it is clear to see that the Lord is at work among us and I can only thank Him and also thank all those whose prayers, passion and practical involvement makes the ministry of Rostrevor Baptist Church what it is today. Our aim is Love God, Love people and See lives Change. As you read the reports of the various ministry areas you will see some of the ways in which all of those are happening. Below the surface of planned ministry as well there is also a deep current of love for God and others which flows from His love in our hearts and which is the source of all true ministry. (Romans 5:5). It is wonderful to be part of a church in which all generations work together and respect and care for each other. It is also wonderful to be part of a church that reflects a wonderful diversity of ethnicities and backgrounds – we are so rich because of each other. During the year we have continued to invest to see lives change – from playgroup to Friday Seniors and everywhere in between. Alpha and Post-Alpha on Monday evenings continues to be a source of great joy as we have the opportunity to hold out the life changing message of Jesus to so many and see lives change for eternity. The new Enrich Life initiatives have also begun to enable us to put arms and legs on Jesus love in new ways. I thank the staff team that I work alongside, Paul Drury and all members of the Elders Council and ASG, who work tirelessly to ensure good governance for the church, the Pastoral Elders whose role in caring for folk in need has expanded this year and our wonderful Connect group and ministry leaders and workers who serve the church family so well. Thank you all in the name of the Lord! It has been a real joy to see our Chinese Outreach community come into being this year. This is exciting to see but we all need to be involved as we pray for Pastor Gordon Liao and the Chinese co-worker team to be strengthened in these times of beginning and to grow to be all that the Lord desires. (Zechariah 4:10)
