NABILAH SAID
Nabilah Said is a playwright, poet and arts writer.
She presented two plays at the M1 Singapore
Fringe Festival 2019, including festival highlight
ANGKAT: A Definitive, Alternative, Reclaimed
Narrative of a Native, a collaboration with Noor
Effendy Ibrahim, and devised movement piece,
yesterday it rained salt, a collaboration with
Bhumi Collective, Norhaizad Adam of P7:1SMA
and performer Kaykay Nizam.
In 2019, she made her international debut with Inside Voices in
London, which was selected for publishing by Nick Hern Books
in the United Kingdom.
A former arts correspondent with The Straits Times, Nabilah
edits and writes features and reviews for various publications
including ArtsEquator and Exeunt Magazine. Her poems have
been published in anthologies by Math Paper Press and Ethos
Books.
She is currently a writer-in-residence at Sing Lit Station, a
Singapore-based literary non-profit. She holds an M.A. in
Writing for Performance at Goldsmiths, University of London.
