ere, we have a guy for you who is dedicated towards studies, one of the brainy few who didn’t
get any ATKTs in the first year and he is a good writer as well. So keep in mind as the scholar lets his
secrets out, ‘Jan Hit me Jaari.’ :P Engineers do cool stuff. Plus, they make a ton of money doing it,
relatively speaking. To fulfill your dreams of getting job in some multinational company. All you need
is technical knowledge and an aggregate of 60% in your BE degree, at least to get in to the interview
room of any decent company. What use is your charisma and confidence if you don’t get selected
for the personal interviews?
Getting all clear through your degree and getting 60% makes you feel awesome. (Same can’t be said
for your parents) you got a seat in engineering. Now, a nasty surprise awaits you guys, this is the
beginning of a nightmare, where many falter, fail a year or two, or even leave the college, unable to
cope. Unless, you adopt a strategy to survive (yes, survive) you won't. There are six steps to get
awesome marks in B.E. degree.
1. Do buy the books early on.
It helps if you do so, books are cheaper early on, and you are at least aware of the
topics. Or at least make your parents think you are serious.
2. Have a careful look at the subjects.
Check out the subjects which appear tougher and lengthier. Make a clear assessment
of which subjects can be done within 5-6 days during the PL (preparation leave).
3. Tackle the tough ones first, remember that way you can try to understand what
is in the subject.
From my own experience, the tough ones require more time to understand, but
sometimes they are worth the effort.
4. DO NOT think that you can get away with passing 3-4 subjects per semester.
Once you get into the vicious circle of backlogs, it gets very tough to come out of it.
5. ALL THE SUBJECTS ARE IMPORTANT.
Of course, this is obvious. But, people sometimes devote too much time to one
subject, leaving others out It is a wrong strategy. Giving too little time or too much
time are equally bad.
6. Lastly, have self-confidence.
There is a thin line of difference between 55% and 60%. With a little more hard work,
anybody can do it.
