Raphaeli Waldorf School Newsletter TERM 2 - 2017 | Page 3

Raphaeli Waldorf School could not have grown and expanded into the school it is today, if not for the hard work and dedication of these two incredibly dedicated people, Ben Murphy and Claire Randon. Raphaeli owes a great debt of gratitude to Claire and Ben who have been stalwarts of the development of the Rapheali School. As a family they have been part of the school almost from its inception. Lately Claire and Ben, as parents, have been tireless supporters giving of their free time over weekends , holidays and by working late into the nights. Claire started the KG in Wittedrift, whilst Ben was ever ready to put up and take down walls , build equipment and make furniture of an extremely high standard where needed. Claire stepped in at a later stage to carry the KG when we had problems recruiting teachers who were suitably qualified and were willing to work for very little. When Claire became our very efficient administrator who worked tirelessly on budgets, policies, development plans, recruitment, finance – always keeping the school in the black! She joined our teacher training artistic sessions and ably helped with crafts in the classroom. She was instrumental in PR by writing newsletters, running work days and open days, organising events , such as Summer Fairs and generally imparting her enthusiasm for Waldorf Education. Without Claire and Ben we would not have been able to fund or build two of our classrooms. She raised funds through her friend in Switzerland and charmed others to build at cost, while Ben and his tools were always at hand. Claire served on the Board of Trustees for over 7 years and Ben was the chairperson of the Board of Trustees for three years bringing a much needed structure into it. Ben gave up much of his free time to support the school through good and trying times. Both have recently stepped down from their service on the Board of Trustees and it is with heartfelt gratitude that we would like to thank them for all that they have done, individually but also together, to aid the development of our school into what it is today. Thank you so much for your selfless service to Raphaeli Waldorf School. We still enjoy their support as committed parents and thank them very much for all the hard work they have done. We hope this will continue and perhaps after a rest, they will be thinking about the next step. Thank you Claire and Ben and Rosie for being the little patient angel. - with heartfelt gratitude from the College of Teachers
