RAP AND FEMINISM Volume 1 | Page 3

I am not betraying myself by enjoying rap. I consider myself an intersectional feminist. Instead of focusing on the plights that face only women in America, I choose to focus on all issues that face all the various people of the world, regardless of gender, class, sexual orientation, religion or race because to solve one problem is to begin to solve all issues. With that said, it’s not that hard to love the artistry in hip hop culture while still critiquing all that is wrong.
