Acknowledgements
Foremost, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the director of Srishti School of Art, Design and Technology, Mrs.
Geetha Narayanan for the guidance and support which I received from the college during my past 4 and half years
here. Without her vision of Srishti, I would not have been able to make a great connection with the discipline I have
chosen to pursue - Design. During my time in Srishti, I got to experiment, introspect, create and grow. I could not have
imagined having a better college for my studies in design.
I would also like to thank Dharma Kannan, Ramesh, Mary Jacob and the entire faculty.
Besides, I would like to thank my and the faculty who were present in jury panels - Pandrang, Tahireh, Agnishika, Atul, Arnab
and Manasee for showing interest in my project, for their encouragement, insightful comments, and hard questions. Meera
Curam, who has been my tutor for 3 years, has been extremely helpful and has always been there to check the progress
of my work. Faculties in the resource team of Srishti, Mrs. Suchitra Narayan and Jaishri have seen to it that I am happy and
comfortable in college.
My sincere thanks also go to Mr. Travis Day and Ivannia Esquivel, The Director or Marketing and Volunteer coordinator
at Rancho Margot for admitting me into the volunteer work exchange program. I had some of the most memorable days
during my stay in Rancho Margot. I admire the work of the owner of the Ranch, Juan Sostheim. The creativity and organisational expertise he has put in to creating this sustainable ranch has inspired me. I thank him for the interviews he gave and
being supportive of my project.
I thank my fellow volunteers Theo, Tom, Nora, Taylor, John, Stephanie, William, Kelly, Margo, Brittany, Fred and Jennifer for
the times we worked together and discussed. I learned something about Sustainability and Permaculture from scratch from
you wonderful people. I would also like to thank the guests, worker and the Sostheim family for the friendship, support and
cooperation they offered to me.
The time that I spent in Rancho Margot will be special in my memories.
Last but not the least, I would like to thank my family: my parents, Mr. Grashious Kuriakose and Mrs. Cisly Grashious and my
younger sister Maria Grashious for your unconditional love.
