The Fukushima Daiichi Power Plant Is realeasing hundreds of Tons of Radioactive waste into the Pacific Ocean. CNN officials say that about 11,500 tons of radioactive water will be released into the ocean to prevent a more serious leak.(1)

To shed a little light on the situation various news stations as well as the national geographic have been looking into the issue. The National Geographic asks Japans head Nuclear Radiation Authority, Shunichi Tanaka, how long the contaminated water has been leaking out. He said it’s probably been leaking since the tsunami and earthquake in March 2011.
