LOUISE CAHILL: Potion, Coventry
Thanks to my mum who has backed my new venture, I’ ve openened my own salon in Coventry. I’ ve worked with Racoon extensions for over six years and they are absolutely brilliant for such a variety of work. I do lots of full heads, as people with fine hair want it to look and feel thicker. And colour placements are a quick, easy and cost effective way to change a style without having to worry about the client’ s hair condition, which may not be up to bleached highlights for example.
“ I want to do more with Racoon extensions work for Hair in Recovery and with cancer charities, specialising in fulfilling a local demand for this type of work which tragically is on the increase. And I’ d love to take these services further afield in salon number two in the not too distant future. I’ ve got my eye on Kenilworth as a great location for my next salon, so watch this space!”
NIKKI GALLIMORE: Shades, Harriseahead
“ I’ m a partner in my mum, Ann Gallimore’ s salon, which she’ s had for 35 years. Mum’ s a great all-round hairdresser – perming, colouring, long hair, wedding hair – the lot; our salon is in Harriseahead, a small village not far from Stoke-on-Trent. We started working with Racoon extensions in 2003 after looking at new salon services to expand the business. We did our initial training in a Racoon salon in Warrington and I loved the product and the creative possibilities of extensions. fired.”
“ About 75 percent of our clients have extensions, from full sets to an effective couple of rows through the sides, a fringe enhancement or a colour placement. Most of us in the salon have extensions which is a great way to promote the benefits. The best thing about being in the RAT Pack is the close way we all get along, our little Racoon family. We work well together as no-one wants to steal the limelight, we love to come up with and share ideas. Working with Stephen and the team gives me a real high and I always return to the salon with my confidence boosted and my creativity.”
