SUSTAINABILITY STARTS WITH NATURAL AND LOW-GWP REFRIGERANTS

μChiller Process is part of the range of CAREL solutions classified as A2L ready and A3 ready and therefore meets the requirements of the regulations regarding the use of flammable gases . These products can then be integrated by unit manufacturers to achieve the required objectives in terms of efficiency , safety and electrical compliance , as well as fulfil the latest technical requirements for industrial HVAC applications , requirements that will also shape the future of the market .
The new Heosbox CO₂ condensing unit for water loop systems is a solution that meets both needs : equipped with Heos high-efficiency technology and designed to operate with CO₂ refrigerant in subcritical conditions , it requires a lower refrigerant charge and thus guarantees a drastic reduction in the risk of leakages . Furthermore , precise and optimised control of the individual units and synchronised operation of the BLDC compressor and electronic valve maximise overall efficiency . Finally , in a subcritical system , the use of CO₂ ( as an alternative to flammable refrigerants such as propane ) overcomes the current charge limits and limits the related technological costs due to lower operating pressures .
CAREL has developed particularly efficient products and solutions that combine or alternate the various features based on the specific use and the requirements of the application . Alongside the more traditional ranges that work with synthetic refrigerants ( R-410A , R-32 , R-448A , R-449A ) there are products designed for natural refrigerants with low or zero GWP , such as carbon dioxide ( R-744 , CO₂ ) and propane ( R-290 ). These include both fixed speed and variable speed compressors using DC inverter technology .
