EMISSIONS WITH EASE
Essentially the Carbon Solution from EDS Systems is a cloud-
based system that enables organisations to ‘plug in’ their
emissions or process data in order to produce a report that
breaks down tax liability into the relevant emissions sources.
This provides visibility into a business’ carbon emissions. Once,
the tax liability status has been determined, the tool calculates a
carbon tax liability amount, taking into consideration any offset
reductions.
Training is provided to in-house resources if businesses wish
to manage the solution themselves. Alternatively, the solution
can be offered as a holistic service by 5Inc. The Carbon Solution
is intended to reduce the administrative burden of compliance
measurement and reporting, the solution is designed for local
conditions, developed wholly in South Africa for South African
businesses.

Samsung’s exclusive Wind-Free cooling technology provides end-

the discomfort of direct cold airflow. Samsung has launched Wind-
Free 2.0 to include smart operation and voice control.
Wind-Free 2.0 residential models are Wi-Fi enabled allowing voice
control with Bixby 2.0 and monitoring from anywhere with an internet
connection through Samsung’s SmartThings app. Users can remotely
regulate temperature, adjust settings, automate unit functions,
receive real time updates about operation and daily energy usage, as
well as troubleshoot solutions when a repair is needed.
Wind-Free 2.0 is available in Max Heat models. The Max Heat
product line yields an advantage for Samsung with its ability to
