Mould can grow and proliferate in as little as 48 hours and make building occupants sick . The fastest way to spread mould in a building is through a forced-air AHU or an HVAC / split unit system . The chemicals that the course trains on use only green chemicals , classified as hygienic and suited for use in medical and pharmaceutical circumstances . The mould can be eliminated by removing the dirt and grime which exists in an aircon system — dirt which is ever-present in a poorly serviced aircon . Some features of the course highlight :

Laidlaw adds : “ As a training provider we are neutral , or product agnostic , but wish to include the latest technologies and practices in our training . We provide courses of this nature as and when new technologies come along as we want to be at the forefront of technology as far as possible . The programme looks at the way that people clean HVAC coils and offers an alternative method . Historically , people use water or cleaners such as acidic aluminium cleaners that descale or a solvent if there ’ s grease in the coils .”

“ We do a full HVAC apprenticeship programme , as well as adult education courses , which include installation maintenance and repair of split units and unitary systems , and cleaning coils form a part of this . We are including this technology as a greener option to the more traditional methods , and possibly as a standalone short course , if that is warranted ,” says Laidlaw .

Furthermore , water itself does not clean — it is a physical measure whereby the force of the water does the cleaning . RACA Journal referenced ‘ Luft Fans ’ as a company founded by Anton Jansen . ‘ Luft fans ’ is purely a product reference for fans sold by Luft Industries . The original ‘ Luft ’ was founded by Ray Miller in the mid-70s and stopped trading under that name in the early 90s due to an acquisition by other companies .
