Events and Exhibitions MCE 2020 IS HERE! The upcoming biennial edition of MCE will be held from 17 to 20 March in Milano, Italy. M ostra Convegno Expocomfort (MCE) is a renowned trade fair in the energy efficiency and renewable sources sectors. Over 160 000 visitors and more than 2 300 exhibitors will be in attendance in the quest of new partnerships. Over the course of events, the entire product spectrum of the industry will be showcased. Innovations in the following themes: indoor climate, water solutions, plant technologies and ‘That’s Smart’ area where the most advanced HVAC technologies will be showcased. MCE is back for another edition this month. ‘That’s Smart’ is the space that MCE 2020 dedicates to electric technologies, an area which valorises the synergy with the HVAC sector. It also proposes integrated, cutting-edge plant solutions for professionals in design, installation and efficient energy management in residential, commercial and industrial premises. Home and building automation is a theme that will be discussed at the Expo, looking at systems to control and coordinate the diverse plants – safety, indoor climate, energy management, lightning – to simplify their use, optimise comfort and energy efficiency and thus allow technicians and plant designers to implement buildings that are more and more intelligent, safe and connected. The (mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering) MEP BIM Forum 2020 will provide new opportunities deriving from the use of digital systems supporting the entire process of design, installation and management of plants within the building whole life cycle. Specialised companies are set to present the most functional tools for HVAC plants design in the BIM environment. All the actors of the value chain (HVAC manufacturers, associations, designers, maintenance installation, and software houses) offer information sessions, case histories and experiences to provide a clear and wide framework of the BIM technology potential, also in consideration of recent policies for public projects. MCE In The City will take place within the conference focusing on climate change and environmental issues. LAYOUT CHANGES The new model of design will find its ideal stage in the new exhibition layout for MCE 2020. 14 RACA Journal I March 2020 The exhibition will feature a new and improved layout that will connect visitors to the future. A new logic of HVAC systems design is underway, as a comprehensive framework in which products, solutions, and systems integrate themselves in terms of energy efficiency, saving and respect for the environment. The change will be at the very heart of the new floor plan for MCE 2020. www.hvacronline.co.za
