The correct calculation of cooling requirements is also a focus point , as often it has been identified to be flawed because differences exist between kilowatt capacity and plain airflow calculations .
“ Going forward we intend to pursue our drive to correct prior misconceptions of evaporative coolers and help the industry to really understand how this technology works , and its fit to varied applications . Unfortunately , in the past a number of ‘ cheap units ’ flooded the market and so there is concern that these products ‘ don ’ t work ’, while in fact they can provide ideal conditions for many industries ,” concludes Barker . HUMOUR A SIMPLE EXCERCISE group of managers were given the assignment to measure the height of a flagpole outside of their offices .
They went out to the flagpoles equipped with ladders 2 and tape measures , and while trying to accomplish their objective , kept falling off the ladders or dropping the tape measures – the whole exercise just turned into a big mess .
An engineer came by and was interested in what they were trying to do . Understanding what needed to happen , he walked over to the flag pole , pulled the flagpole ’ s base pin out and lay it flat on the ground . He proceeded
4 to measure it from end to end , then gave the measurement to one of the
managers and went on his way . After the engineer had gone , one manager turns to another laughing , " Isn ' t that just like an engineer – we ' re looking for the height and he gives us the length ." RACA
