THE VISITORS TO FRIGAIR

By Tanya Olckers
FRIGAIR Expo took place at Gallagher Convention Centre between 4 and 6 June. Tanya Olckers caught up with some of the visitors to find out about their experience of the exhibition.

FRIGAIR proved to be a success for visitors and exhibitors alike. The event felt like a vibrant celebration with crowds that weaved and ducked down halls and visitors stood in intense conversation with exhibitors. Seminars were also well attended, with one or two being so full that there was standing room only.

“ These seminars are very informative,” said one attendee,“ It’ s been great to find out more about trends and to get up to speed about what’ s going on in the industry. I found Grant Laidlaw’ s talk about the new refrigeration qualifications to be incredibly useful.” Another seminar attendee was excited about the seminar presented by RACA Journal contributor Michael Young,“ He was a good speaker,” he said,“ I came away with a better understanding of data centres and what was needed for them.”
Some visitors were at the show to learn more, others to reach out to other businesses and still others who had come along with the idea of discovering what the world of refrigeration could possibly hold for further education.
David Pretorius was one of these visitors. He had taken a year off after matric and was working in a refrigeration business. His goal was to find out more about the industry before committing himself to study.“ This was eye opening,” he said,“ I realise there is more to refrigeration and I do think that this is the right path for me. For me the best part was chatting to people who actually work in the industry and getting a feel for what my future could look like. Great exhibition!”
FRIGAIR was buzzing with visitors on all three days.
The crowds moved thick and fast through the hall over the three days that the exhibition was held. Most visitors felt that they had come away from the show having learned something new.
“ This was very interesting,” said one of the men who dashed past.

The positive comments reflect the success of the three-day long exhibition itself. And, if you find yourself with a bad case of FOMO, don’ t stress – FRIGAIR returns in 2028. RACA
