Last year we had two epic Caboolture Officers , Katie Anderson and Grace Mambear . As a dynamic duo , we took a small , quiet campus and created a Guild presence on campus that was bigger and better than ever - and shows no sign of slowing the progression .
At the beginning of the year , Katie and Grace took a look at the events and services held at Gardens Point and Kelvin Grove campus ’ to find the best way to bring them to Caboolture – because why should anyone miss out ?!
These gals kicked off before the 1st December 2015 , with a mini Puppies and Pancakes ! Exam Support Stall tents were the first to appear on Campus in 2016 , early in the exam block of Semester 1 . These provided students with pens , pencils and erasers for exams and provided students with an opportunity to chat to and get to know the Caboolture Officers , as well as finding out more information about the Guild .
Shortly after , Chill Spaces debuted at Caboolture Campus with bean bags , turf crates , rugs and even ping pong ! There was free tea , coffee , juice and pancakes provided as well , to keep you all from losing your minds through that pesky 3 Day SWOTVAC . If that wasn ’ t enough to enjoy , the famous QUT Guild ball pit even made an appearance a few of times – how ’ s that for an epic way to relax !
Come August , the first ever QUT Guild Caboolture Ball was ready to go . Held at the Sandstone Point Hotel , it was a huge success with everybody dressed up to the nines and looking as glamorous as ever ! With food , drinks and laughter , everyone danced the night away , overlooking the views of Pumicestone Passage and Bribie Island .
For those that missed out in 2016 – never fear ! Your new Caboolture Officer , Rylee Dobson , will be back and working alongside your 2017 QUT Guild Executive to make these events bigger and better than ever .
