Kimber and Ryan Stark Married: 6 years Occupation: Ryan and Kimber own and operate Stark’s Studios and 217 Films Living in: Quincy, IL 1. What do you remember about your wedding day? K: Thinking back to the details of our wedding day is kind of difficult for me, even though it was only 6 years ago. I can’t imagine how hard it will be in 20 years! I remember feeling pretty. I remember how special it felt to have my dad get emotional over seeing me at our “first look.” I remember being nervous to walk down the aisle with everyone staring at me. I remember laughing and smiling a lot. I remember feeling sad Ryan’s mom had passed away 1 month prior and didn’t make it to our wedding day. I remember hoping the vows I wrote sounded ok compared to his. I remember having to ask our best man and maid of honor to take us home to get clothes for the next morning so we wouldn’t be opening gifts in front of family in my wedding dress and his suit! :) I remember how good it felt after the final bobby pin was removed from my hair that night. R: I remember being so excited to actually be getting married instead of just working a wedding. It was such a beautiful day, with all of our friends and family, and I was starting the journey with my best friend. 2. What song played during your first dance? We had two first dance songs. I Just Call You Mine by Martina McBride and Hey Pretty Girl by Kip Moore. 3. What advice would you give a couple planning their wedding now? K: Our wedding cost around $5,000. I wore a $100 dress and Ryan wore a suit he already owned. Our venue cost $750 for both Friday and Saturday...and we regret doing things that way. We often talk about how different we would do things now! Don’t misunderstand me, weddings don’t need to put you or your parents into debt, that’s not necessary, but after personally filming over 70 weddings with Ryan in the last 5 years I’ve seen what we missed out on.
