The internet was really helpful when planning our
album. We used the internet to get the correct
measurements for the vinyl. We found a really
useful blog which helped us design the tabs, so
putting the album together would be easier.
In addition, when researching and planning, we
came across different coloured vinyl’s which
inspired us to spray the vinyl gold to add a pop
of colour.
Similarly, the internet really helped when
designing the back of our album as we created
a barcode, making the album look more
realistic. We also created our own download
code so the audience could scan the code and
have the album on their phone.
The Album
Me and Connor used Serif Draw, which is an
editing and Photoshop software, to create
our album. We used the pencil tool to
create the ‘hand drawing foreigner’ which is
featured on the front of the album. Although
serif draw was really helpful in creating our
album, we used other Software’s to get the
sizing correct.
Additionally, Serif Draw had a great retro
font called ‘AR BONNIE’. This fit perfectly with
our retro, 90’s, theme we aimed to achieve
throughout all our ancillary tasks.
Serif Draw also allowed me and Connor to
create the Polaroid style picture on the back
of the album. We used the ‘Shapes tool’ to
create this and filled it in white, creating a
4
Polaroid picture.
I and Connor used
Adobe to import our
album into. This
helped us get the
correct measurements
for the vinyl, so when
we printed it, it would
not be pixelated or the
wrong size for a vinyl.
