Stoker Website
I wanted a gif from 'Lights Out' for the website's home page and decided on a GIF of the vampire sitting up in bed and stretching, as it was the first joke within the music video. However, I didn't want just one GIF blown up to the size of the home page, for a few reasons: one being that I wasn't sure if the quality of the footage would remain after having put it into a Graphics Interchange Format, especially as I acheived this from a free website that condenses Youtube footage into GIFs.
Another reason was that I wanted to keep the indie theme in my homepage and was inspired by a famous picture of Mac Demarco used for his single 'Chamber of Reflection', where someone has cheapily and roughly cut around him in a picture and pasted him multiple times. A common theme within indie artists is slackery- bands don't want to come across as being too polished and want to appear as though their talent is effortless. I think this is also aparent in my music video as it is evident within the mise-en-scene that a relatively low budget was used in the production.
