Concept

My main product is an effective combination with my ancillary texts as they all give clues as to the underlying meaning within my music video. The concept I intended for my music video was that, due to social stigma, the vampire kills an innocent girl in the way everybody would expect a vampire to, by sucking her blood. I created this narrative to illustrate the self-fulfilling prophecy and my CD package furthers this by having a track on the album called 'Thomas Theorem'. This was a concept created by the aforementioned D. S. Thomas and stated that "If men define a situation as real, then they are real in their consequences". This theory was the principle basis for the school of thought now known as the 'Self-fulfilling prophecy': the idea that by labelling someone and reinforcing that label, the individual consequently adopts that belief about themselves and fulfils the label placed upon them. In this instance, the vampire is labelled as evil or "VAMPIRE SCUM" as the post on her Facebook wall shows and that belief is reinforced throughout thr video, thus concluding with the

vampire taking a life, though it might never have been in her nature to do so.
