Tassie Bushfires Badge
Portarlington Girl Guides, Victoria, has produced a badge to raise funds for Dunalley Primary School in Tasmania after the bushfires in January 2013.
After being evacuated, the Guides saw and heard stories of others also caught up in the bushfires whilst at the evacuation centre in Nubeena. On returning home home from fanTAStic the girls, in conjunction with the Victorian State Commissioner, designed a badge to raise funds to help the local primary school to re-build their playground.
Badges are $ 2.00 each and are available from Guide Supplies.
White Pages Covers Program
Nominate a local who has made a contribution to her / his community, to feature on the White Pages and Yellow Pages under the cover theme“ Inspiring Others to Achieve”.
Nominees must have contributed to their community in one of the following ways:
• Regularly donated their time to help guide others
• Mentored another person to help them achieve a goal
• Created tools / resources to assist others in pursuing greatness
• Undertaken a stirring feat to inspire or motivate others in their community
• Initiated programs / activities that have helped others achieve
• Helped someone achieve in an individual or team sport
• Provided education opportunities in pursuit of academic success
