Deutz premiered its new TCD 9.0 four-cylinder diesel engine at bauma China 2016. This is the first in a new generation of engines produced by Deutz in partnership with the Liebherr Group, following a recent agreement. The TCD 9.0 has a power rating of 300kW and produces 1 700Nm of torque. The compact design makes it easy to install in a variety of applications, although it is most suited to excavators and wheel loaders. The TCD 9.0 is being manufactured for the Chinese market and will be made in Dalian, with later generations expected to be available to markets in the Middle East and Africa.
IROCK’ s TS-512 portable screening plant has been designed for fast and easy set-up, and hassle-free on-site mobility. The screener features two highenergy, two-bearing decks; a 3.6m × 1.5m top deck and a 3.15m × 1.5m bottom deck, giving a screening area of 10.4m 2. The interchangeable screen media gives versatility over product size, while the 9.1m 3 hopper and 74.57kW CAT Tier 3 engine enable the screener to process up to 363 tonnes per hour of material. The three conveyors sort up to three sizes of product into 5m high stockpiles. The TS-512 has a solid, heavy-duty steel chassis and is available as a standard tracked model or a wheeled version. An optional remotecontrolled livehead effectively sizes and loosens heavy, dirty and sticky debris from product before it enters the hopper. A crusher chute allows direct feeding of material into the hopper without removing the tipping grid, and a single shaft shredder is available for proper topsoil screening.

Blastcrete’ s new Equipment Company has unveiled a new dust-suppression system designed to control crystalline silica dust.
Blastcrete unveils new dustsuppression system
US-based Blastcrete Equipment Company has unveiled a new dust-suppression system designed to control crystalline silica dust. The patent-pending DustAway system consists of a special bulk bag design, which attaches to a mixer to capture airborne particles as the mixer fills, thereby helping to control respirable dust.
According to Blastcrete, DustAway is the first system of its kind in the world and has been specially developed to fit securely around the openings of mixer equipment. The flexibility of the system allows customers using material packaged in paper bags to convert to small bulk bags.
Jim Farrell, chief executive officer of Blastcrete, said,“ The DustAway is a cost-effective way to meet OSHA regulations. We will work with companies one-on-one to customise a solution.”
Blastcrete offers a variety of DustAway bulk bag sizes and customisable lids to fit new and existing machines, either from Blastcrete or from other manufacturers.
The system was developed to meet new regulations set out by the US Occupational Safety and Health Administration( OSHA), which take effect from June 2017. The new regulations reduce permissible exposure limits by around 50 % to 50μg per cubic metre of air over an 8-hour shift.

Caterpillar
Caterpillar is teaming up with large-scale analytics solutions provider Modustri to launch a global wear part and machine management platform for heavy-duty equipment, to fulfil the manufacturer’ s vision for the Age of Smart Iron.
The Cat Wear Management System now available to Caterpillar’ s dealer network worldwide features tools that will enhance dealers’ abilities to measure wear on parts, optimise machine fleets more effectively, forecast parts needs, and maximise maintenance and service performance.
The solution will allow
The Cat Wear Management System is now available to Caterpillar’ s dealer network worldwide.
Caterpillar and its dealers to use data efficiently and predictively, lowering the cost of service. Dealers will no longer be confined to relying on silos of field inspections, as well as manual quoting and forecasting processes.
With pilots beginning in Q1 2017 across several industries, Modustri will deploy the global wear part and machine management platform to collect data and drive actionable insights for manufacturing, heavy equipment, energy, retail and transportation industries across all geographies.
