WHEN YOU ARRIVE 12 GETTING ON BASE MCB Quantico is an expansive base in the heart of the National Capital Region. As such, we highly recommend families secure a rental car for the duration of their visit. The main gate is accessible via I-95 or Route 1. If you plan on staying more than a few miles from base, please plan to add 45-90 minutes to your drive due to rush hour traffic. Many of the signs leading to the base are small so keep your eyes open, and always have a map or GPS with you. *Please be advised that using a cell phone that is not hands-free while operating a vehicle is prohibited and strictly enforced. IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ACCESSING BASE: Upon arrival at the gate you are required to have a current, government-issued identification for ALL persons over the age of 16 years (state ID, driver’s license, passport, etc.). All vehicles may be subject to search, it is important to have insurance and registration on hand. If in a rental vehicle be sure to have the rental agreement on hand. If using a car service, plan ahead and ensure the driver has military base access. Family and friends will only be authorized access to MCB Quantico during the days/hours below: ► March 12, 3:30-6 PM, Social Dinner ► March 13, 6-9 AM, Family Day ► March 14, 6-11 AM, Graduation and Commissioning Outside of the hours above access will need to be requested through the Visitor Control Center. Note that Candidate’s Orders/Common Access Card grants the entire vehicle access for the purpose of drop-off only.
