Anaesthesia
• Before the specialist surgeon undertakes a wisdom teeth removal, you’ll first be put
under a local anaesthetic injection to numb the surrounding areas of the teeth. If
you happen to be a bit more anxious about the operation, the dentist might decide
to give you a sedative so that to help you relax. This is done by the doctor injecting
you on the arm. Don’t worry about general anaesthetic. It’s not necessary, what you
need is your wisdom teeth removed and you will complete the process on the same
day.
Wisdom teeth removal process
• If it happens that your wisdom teeth are yet to emerge from the gum, a small
incision will be done around the gum to access the teeth. The section of the bone
covering the teeth might need to be cut. The tooth too can also be reduced into
smaller parts to make the entire process very easy to remove via the opening.
However, there will be no need to make an incision if it’s found out that the tooth
has broken through the gum.
