I wonder what ‘call me
Dave’ makes of all this
as he was instrumental
in introducing same sex
marriage to Britain in
2013. But it now
appears he is happy for
UK cash to be sent to a
country that persecute
gay people.
There is no mention of
any law prohibiting UK
foreign aid from building a Nigerian space
rocket!!!
The huge rise in British
aid is in direct contrast
to other countries, most
of which are slashing
aid programs. United
Nations figures reveal
that average aid spending is 0.29 per cent of
income – less than half
what Britain has
budgeted.
Even if we could afford
to give away £11.2billion in foreign aid how
much of that money
reaches the people it is
intended for and how
much is lost to corruption and terrorist
groups? Is it worth borrowing money to give
away? I think not!!!
IGNATIUS
…..and still it goes on,
but.
It’s nearly thirteen
years since a freelance
journalist named
Heather Brooke spent
five years using the
freedom of information
legislat ion to delve into
MP’s expenses, that in
2009 exploded onto our
newspapers especially
thanks to her and The
Daily Telegraph. A
book was written in
2009 by Robert Winnett and Gordon
Rayner called No Expenses Spared, which
told the story of how it
was found out and just
how corrupt some of
our members of parliament were. All this before the banking scandal broke, but there is
one word that joins
these scandals together
its called avarice, and
even after all their mea
culpa’s it’s still going
on. As peoples standard
of living continue to
decreases because of
escalating bills it’s not
now only the working
class, no insult intended, but the middle
class who are now feeling the pain, a pain that
looks likely to continue
for many more years to
come no matter what
the government or opposition and the utility
companies keep saying
about trying to reduce
our fuel bills. Now Osborne wants £25 billion
more in further cuts in
2015/18, welfare will
lose £12 billion placing
again the deficit reduction on the working
poor. Now although I
believe that anybody
who has been on long
time welfare should be
able to drive round in a
car, or go on continental holidays, when
thousands of working
people can’t afford to,
if these welfare claimants can then it proves
that the benefits are too
good.
