BQA ’ s Events
The Board of Directors of the Education & Training Quality Authority ( BQA ) held its second meeting for the year 2017 , under the chairmanship of HE Mr . Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed , Minister of Transportation & Telecommunications , Vice Chairman of the BQA Board of Directors .
During the meeting , the Board of Directors approved the 27th set of review reports covering the results of the performance of 30 government schools , seven monitoring visits , nine private schools , five monitoring visits , 17 vocational and training institutions , two monitoring visits of training providers , five academic programmes and eight followup visits . This is in addition to the results of the institutional listing of two educational institutions and placement of 16 academic qualification on the NQF based on the recommendation of the NQF Advisory Committee .
Moreover , the Board of Directors also reviewed the results of the national examinations for Grades 9 and 12 and their principal examiners ’ reports . The Board of Directors also discussed several topics and reports among which the latest developments of the unified national examinations system based on the BQA mandate by the Cabinet to supervise its implementation timetable in collaboration with the concerned bodies .

During the meeting , the Board of Directors approved the 27th set of review reports covering the results of nine academic programmes reviews . The Board of Directors also reviewed the DHR plan for the next cycle of reviews and the annual review 2017 proposal . In addition , the Board discussed the cooperation strategy with the strategic partners and stakeholders in the Kingdom of Bahrain in terms of the best way to get benefit of the BQA ’ s review reports and implementation of their recommendations . Dr . Roy Blatchford , Education Advisor at the Office of the First Deputy Prime Minister , was also briefed of the BQA ’ s activities .
Dr . Jawaher Al Mudhahki , BQA Chief Executive , welcomed Mr . Ahmed Jaffar Muftah , the new member of the NQF Advisory Committee , who has been recently appointed under the Ministerial Resolution No . 16 of 2017 . Mr . Muftah will represent the Ministry of Labour and Social Development . Dr . Al Mudhahki also thanked the former NQF Committee member , Mr . Radhi Hubail , for the efforts he had made during his tenure , which had had a clear impact on its activities and wished him all the best of luck .
Dr . Jawaher Al Mudhahki , BQA Chief Executive , received Dr . Masooma Al Mutawah , Assistant Professor at Bahrain Teachers College , who presented her with a copy of her book titled : “ Developing Bahrain Future Schools Mathematics ” in which she proposed ideas and models to develop mathematics curriculum in the Kingdom of Bahrain . The reception took place on Sunday , 25 September 2017 .
Dr . Haya Al-Mannai , Chairperson of the Vocational Provider Improvement Strategy Coordination Committee , stressed the importance of communication between partners to improve the performance of education and training institutions . She also pointed out the importance of exchanging information on training institutions and private schools regularly to determine their status and achievements in the development and improvement of this sector .
This came during the regular coordination meeting held by the Committee headed by Dr . Haya Al-Mannai , the Director General of the General Directorate of Education & Training Institutes Reviews , in the presence of representatives of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Labour and Social Development , on Monday , 25 September 2017 at the BQA premises , Seef District .
The BQA participated in the ‘ 2 nd GCC Logistics Forum ’ organised recently by the International Maritime College of Oman , Sohar , Sultanate of Oman , under the theme : ‘ Human Capital Development – Unification of Education and Training Standards and Practices in GCC Logistics Sector ’, under the patronage of His Excellency Dr . Fuad bin Jafar bin Al Sajwani , Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries . Dr . Tariq Al Sindi , the General Director of the General Directorate of the National Qualifications Framework , presented a paper entitled ‘ The concept of the GCC unified qualifications framework ’. The forum is attended by approximately 400 participants covering chief executives , directors , and various researchers from various industries and government bodies .
