Men’s Interstate

The Queensland Men’s State Team
sealed victory in the Australian
Interstate Series, defeating New South
Wales in a thrilling final round at
Tasmania Golf Club in May.
A strong New South Wales side put
up a good fight; however they came
up one match short, with Queensland
winning the Championship 4.5-3.5.
Queensland Team Captain, James
Gibellini, said “the team put in a
magnificent effort and showed a lot of
heart throughout the week.
“There were a few times when we
looked like we were struggling in
some matches but we pulled together
and got it done” he said.
Taylor MacDonald, Simon Viitakangas,
James Gibellini and Jake McLeod were
winners for Queensland on the
final day.
Victoria finished in third place after
a battle with Tasmania in the first
consolidation final, while South
